Lesson Plan Design for Incorporating Technology Assignment

While there are many types of lesson plan designs available for teachers, I would like for you to use these three in developing your lesson plans. The first lesson plan model is TIMS (Tennessee Instructional Model), which is based off of the original Madeline Hunter model. The second model that I would like to see is the Inquiry Based Lesson Plan Model. The final model that works well with technology is the ASSURE model.

While no lesson plan model is better than the other, each have their strengths when providing flexability, key concepts, and technology integration.

Interactive Whiteboards

When it comes to Interactive Whiteboards, there are two companies battling for first place: Promethean and SmartTech. Both companies have exceptional software and hardware. The main difference between these two companies is how you interact with the board. SmartTech allows you to use your finger like a mouse cursor to interact with the board and software. On the other hand, Promethean requires that you use a stylus. Both work well, and when used appropriately can be a great tools in the classroom.

Keynote...But Not Really

PowerPoint has become the default visual presentation program in classrooms across North America. If a teacher has a Mac in their classroom they may have used an Apple program called Keynote to present their material. Keynote is by far the best presentation program available today, but it is only available on the Mac.

The developers of Keynote decided to break away from Apple and open their product to the rest of the world (Pcs). Enter 280slides.com. 280slides is almost identical to Apple's version except is has one advantage, it is avialable to anyone with an Internet browser. And best yet, it stores your presentation in the cloud (Internet) so you don't have to worry about forgetting to bring your usb drive to class.

280slides offers a free limited version, and a paid version that offers more features and storage.
